  • Actually, taking away a 0% interest rate for a first late payment, looks very much like an unfair contract term.

In my case, the bank, after my complaint, decided to appear magnanemous. And doing so, it brought justice to the situation. But, it could have strictly enforced it's contract, and then be unjust. But, it only acted justly in response to my complaint.

The poster doth protest too much.

Perhaps if the bank had not thought it could get away with taking £22.30 away from me. But since it was perfectly happy in doing that, untill I complained - I don't think I do protest too much.

What is this place? A bank appreciation society?
  • Does everbody always look at every term before making a balance transfer?

    No.

Then more fool you. I have no sympathy for someone that signs a contract without knowing what they are agreeing to.

But this happens all of the time. So, you are calling every person who might have had to take what was offered a fool. You insult millions of decent people.

In this case my bank, because it did listen, came out, sort of, okay. Because it did respond to my complaint. But some posters here have mindsets far worse than my bank.

Nope. But neither is it bank bashing society either.

It's actually quite comical. You make a mistake, your bank charges you, but then decide to let you off because it's your first offence, but still you complain about it?

In the exact same circumstances most people would be praising their bank for their understanding and forebearance, but for some reason, even the mere suggestion that you should actually take responsibility for your own mistakes seems to annoy you.

There's nowt as queer as folk.

Do you understand that for one lousy mistake the public don't expect a bank to remove the 0% interest? Budgeting was predicated on there being 0% interest. So, it's a very serious issue to have removed that 0% interest level.

Heck, the bank was up on it's collections, I was paying twice the minimum amount. This makes all the difference in the world. It does to those who understand that it's not all about the letter of the law.

The public might not expect the bank to remove the 0% interest, but YOU signed a contract agreeing to this, so why were you surprised when it happened ?

The bank loaned you money at 0%, how do you work out that by you paying extra each month, they are up on the deal ? How much you pay back each month is your choice, they would have been happy with the minimum. You still owe them money, they're doing you the favour, it's not the other way round :rotfl:

You won't be refunded again, so i hope you've set up a direct debit.

    People talk about growing up.

Growing up is seeing the true realities of a situation.

For some the realities are the very contractual terms. And they feel that that is all there is to the matter. A pure matter of contract.

For the more enlightened, issues of overwhelming power, lack of competition and justice in a situation are the true realities.

Sadly, some here fail to grasp these really significant realities.
