Self storage insurance

Hello
I am looking at renting a small self storage unit for a few months to get some breathing space at home whilst decluttering and decorating.
Am I right in thinking that self storage insurance needs to be seperate to contents insurance at home?
Can anyone recommend any - or if anyone can find any via Quidco that I am missing.
Items will not be of a high value anyway so I don't really want to be paying more than they are worth
Thanks

Hi there,
Firstly, check that the storage facility allows external arranged insurance. One of the big franchises have just introduced a rule stating that you have to take out one of their policies.
I use insura store (all one word . com) and they charge 69p a week for £1000 cover and take paypal (for a small extra fee). You can create a policy for a week at a time...you just keep pushing the policy end date forward, if need be.
Hope this helps

Brilliant - thank you.
It's confusing when looking at things that are so cheap to know if they are valid or not! They do have the storage company I am going to use and I have some refunded money in paypal so even better!
Thank you0 -
Mine was compulsory with the storage.
When i needed to claim - the storage companys insurance refused to pay, as they did not submit the claim in time.
Took the storage company to small claims and won.
They all love taking your money - but not paying out.0
