    I too worked in the self storage industry and can tell you that they took great care of customer's goods. We had a flood once and went to great lengths to move everything at risk and contacted all customers affected asking them to come in and check for any damage. This was a national chain so they have a lot to lose if they get a bad reputation.
    The whole setup was modern and clean.. we were more than happy to let people look around at the conditions before renting.

    No all storage companies are the same.
