Hyundai Getz Automatic

I am looking to buy a small automatic car for around £3-£4k mark. Due to previous bad experience with semi-automatics, I am looking for full autos only. My options are VW Polo/Golf, Hyundai Getz/i10/i20, Kia Picanto/Rio, Suzuki Swift, Honda Jazz.
I've located a Hyundai Getz (one 07 model and another 08 model) that I am interested in. But, my friends tell me that this is a discontinued model, and it might be difficult to get spares or fix it, in case something should go wrong. Is this true?
Does anybody have any feedback about Hyundai Getz automatic. Suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

You will have no problem getting parts. I have a Hyundai Lantra that was discontinued in 2001 and I never had a problem with parts. It is very reliable anyway as is the Getz. Everyone I know who has a Getz is pleased with it.
Unless you buy a car that is just a few years old, it is likely that any model you choose will be discontinued as they change so often now.0 -
Thanks Ed. That's reassuring. Let's see if anybody has anything different to say.0

According to http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/browse/hyundai/hyundai_getz There are about 6000 Getz Auto's left and a lot more manuals so parts wont be hard to getz (see what i did)
Mum and Dad have a Getz that's a few years older and its been a good little car apart from wear and tear like tyres it hasnt cost them much.
I once had to take an I20 auto on a 250 mile run (used to deliver cars) and can't complian, it was a nice drive and not as bad on the fuel as i thought it would be.
Please stay away from Kia rio/picanto around (07 and before) they are just truly awful, Kia's later cars like the Cee'd and Venga are much much better.
As for the others swift, jazz, polo etc they are all good cars and the only way to choose is to find out is to test them.
Just a note, if you see a micra auto then avoid unless you like huge fuel bills the little engine just drinks fuel, the bigger 1.4 in the Note is not as bad but not the best.Bedroom Tax / Spare room subsidy / Housing Benefit Reduction - It's the same thing, get over it.0 -
Thanks Chris. I'll take a note about your comments on nissan micra, and older Kia's.0
