How long before we hear?

Hi all,
We paid the admin fees for a rental property last week and are waiting to hear if we have been accepted.
How long do you think this will take? Last year we simply paid the fees (and deposit) on the day and that was that.
The LA said "wouldn't take long" but any idea what sort of time scale?

my fianc! & i are in the same boat - paid the admin fee on Monday this week and waiting to complete credit checks etc. Our LA said it would take approx. 5 working days, so if you paid yours last week I would expect you might hear any time now assuming they're all similar (big assumption though!).0

Exciting isn't it? I'm a bit concerned about credit checks and i'm just coming out of uni with no real credit to check... LA said it should be ok though as bf can easily cover the rent, should he need to.

our checks took about 5 days but saying that, all the referencing seemed to be done in 1 day via phone calls to employer, last agents etc. Though I was shocked to be told my previous agents would not give a reference untill i paid them £24 to do it ( previous agents). So after lots of arguing with agent, I ended up having to pay it or I wasnt moving! They screwed me good and proper, I either paid £125 extention fee or £24 for a reference, but either way they were getting money off me. However, once paid the checks were completed within an hour. When there's a knock at the door, why do dogs always think its for them?0
