Been doing 3 or 4 a month for 2 years including untold where they phone me up at short notice and I get this email out of the blue yesterday. Has this happened to anyone else ? Gapbuster haven't replied to my email querying it.
Thank you forspending your time being a mystery shopper for GAPbuster Worldwide. The experiences that you have reported havebeen very valuable for our clients.
Our clients require us to provide a broad range of shoppers and shoppers・expectations of customer service; therefore we periodically review our shopper base. I had this problem about a month ago!!!! I even had an assignment ready to do the next day!!!!! They didn't even send me the email....I just couldn't get on my account (saying unknown user) and so I bombarded them with emails. They eventually replied and stated that I should have got an email.....which I did about 4 days later.
They asked for my coffee equipment back (otherwise threatening to charge me) but I said I was away from home and so unable to send back. I got my pay the other day and have recieved the full amount so good job they didn;t take off money for the equipment.
I don't know why they decide to do it but the only reason I can think of is I seemed to be repeating the same assignments over and over again, month after month, and so they might have wanted other people to asses....but whatever the reason....this is a perfect example of the wonderful customer service that GAP have.0 -

Yep - technically it is an expense, so you can take it off your income... It will look funny that you made a loss but that's how a lot of MS jobs go - you make a loss despite having tea for free!!If you're working for RE (or another company where they only reimburse your actual spending) then you'll have made a loss of £2.20 on this job.... :j

I'm getting myself confused on this one!!
Am I reading this right? You show the £25 as income then claim £20 meal plus £7.20 petrol as a tax alowance?
- would you just retain the job offer as proof of the £20 for the taxman?0 -
The paperwork I'd keep is:
- My invoice to the MS company (the system I use creates an invoice for the £25) - even though you don't send this to them, you don't need to prove your income any further than an invoice. (Edit: you could keep the job offer instead of this if you'd prefer)
- The receipt for the food
- A note (I write this on the invoice) of how many miles I did and what I'm claiming for it.

Out of interest, how many of the MSers on here use an accounting system? I used to use a simple spreadsheet but as the jobs have become more frequent I now use QuickBooks to keep a note of the income and expenses - it also tells me things like profit month on month at the click of a button.... I would recommend this to anyone one here and am happy to provide support for anyone who needs it!
I've got a spreadsheet, totalled monthly (and annually of course) showing MS company, where I did the job, expenses and payment. Nice and simple! We’ve had to remove your signature. this maybe something that should go on page 1 for us newbies with an eg. When you say expenses - is this milage/printing brief AND the cost of the item.
For payment is this the reimbursement for the item and the fee together.0 -

I do mine by hand on an accounts pad, with a new page for each month. I just find it easier to do simple accounts on paper.
Apart from this tax year as I haven't worked since April so my pages are looking a bit bare at the moment
Just logged into this thread to see what was happening as I'm starting to think about my return to work in January. Here I go again on my own....0
