Hi I am wondering if you can hire a nurse for say 7-8 hours a day for a small period of time, say 2 weeks to take care of an elderly person.
Or if there are other options to take care of a elderly person full time for a short amount of time.
thanks.

you could find a nursing home/enhanced care home that takes people for short periods of "respite"care,i know my father in law went into one while his flat had some adjustments made
social services maybe able to point you in the right direction
would be less complicated than employing a nurse, but probably more costly0 -
hey thanks, do you have any links?0

You can, and it doesn't need to be complicated at all. You need to approach a local care agency, get recommendations if you can or do a Google search. You'll be able to meet the agency and the staff before committing to anything, so you can be confident your relative will be well looked after.0

My relative had live in nurses for years from an agency to care for her elderly father in law. Was expensive but each nurse works 2 weeks on then 2 weeks off and another nurse came in. You need to provide a bedroom for the nurse though and thats not always possible. Cost was about £500 a week and that was a couple of years ago. The nurse does everything for the elderley person, including making meals and washsing the dishes etc. Sorting out washing the person, medication, general care etc.

Hi
It depends where you live but you can approach agencies such as Pulse, BNA or Prestige. Carfulyl check rates as agencies such as Ambition are very expensive without having anyone significnatly different.
Depending on what they need to do you can request a band 5 (more junior nurse) or a band 6 if there are multiple meds such as syrunge drivers to monitor.0 -
You may find that a carer would be able to do the tasks required and would be considerably cheaper than a nurse. What sort of care/nursing needs doing? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

My aunt was well cared for by two live-in carers from a very good agency -- not cheap! but cheaper than nurses. She did also though have an exceptionally good and helpful GP and easy access to good hospitals in Bloomsbury.
I suggest you ask Social Services for a list of local care providers; some do provide nursing.0
