Nationwide Accpeted or not?

in Credit cards
I have used the quote option for nationwide 0% balance transfer for 20 months. I was quoted 15.9% with 2,800 limit. Do you think this an acceptance. I have done the full application and entered the balance transfer details. It stated they need to check some details and I should here in 7 days.
I am asking as I have had problems in the past. My last missed payment was November 2011. I only have £300 balance outstanding on a vanquish card and £200 on next everything else is clear. Annual income is £16,500 thanks.

It's not an acceptance. It's a referral and only Nationwide will be able to tell you if you have been accepted or not.0

When applying for a credit card, Does entering balance transfer details when making a application automatically get a referral as a underwriter will have to do a manual review to carryout the transfers?0 -
The BT itself wouldn't impact an acceptance/rejection decision, as the transfer istelf would be dealt with after the account is set up.
But it's possible that if the BT amount is higher than the system allocated credit limit, it may cause a referral to see if you deserve the higher amount.
But I'd guess in most cases, it woudn't make a difference, and you would simply be accepted with the system allocated limit.0 -
Not everybody gets that message.
Accepted - "Approved in principle, subject to final checks"
Referred - "Need to check more details, you'll hear from us within ... days"0 -
Thanks to everyone who replied I guess I will just wait and see. I'll let you know0

Thank you for this, I did an application last night and got the top response so hopefully that means its on its way - do you know what the final checks are? Will they have already done Experian etc at the time of the online?
The reason I ask is I've checked Experian and Noddle and everything in order on there, bar my ex showing as a financial link so I've asked for him to be removed which has now been done.
Equifax I couldn't get on there full stop, said they couldn't match my details - could be due to my address being a bit tricky in that you can enter it in a few different ways, including a Welsh and English version. Then I appeared to get a bit further but the verification questions they gave me were bafflling, some just didn't seem to relate to me at all - don't know if they were red herrings??? I was left with a reference to ring them but looking on the forums people have said its a nightmare on the phone so haven't done that as yet.
Prior to the nationwide app, I applied for the BC 0% BT card and got a letter yesterday with a flat out no and a generic list of possible reasons, despite good salary, no missed payments, defaults etc and only using 29% of available credit. Again, on the online app they said they couldn't match my details and I believe they use Equifax so wondering now whether there's a prob with that record, whereas the other two are spot on! I guess I might have to bite the bullet, give them a ring and be prepared for it to be painful!!0 -
Nope - I applied yesterday and got refused after a quotation. What will your verse be?

If it's anything like when I applied last year, they'll have done the CRA checks already and they may now phone you at home for a security check as they did with me. If you don't answer, they will then go on to cancel your account. Just like they did with me.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -

No ideas what the final checks are but I think you have basically been accepted. I think this is Nationwide's way of saying that the card's on its way.
Address format issues do seem to be able to cause problems, primarily because the electoral role information may not be found and/or all other credit records.0 -
Hi All,
Just to update, very impressed with Nationwide, no card or paperwork yet but both balance transfers I requested went through yesterday in under a week since the initial online app, excellent!
Just as well I did the application when I did as my mortgage has mysteriously disappeared off Experian, think its something to do with Halifax/LLoyds changes ongoing and parts of the business transferring etc - will be keeping my eye on that...0
