That would never have worked for me. I was always having early nights, couldn't concentrate long enough to read, didn't have the energy to get my butt out of bed let alone go for long walks or exercise, couldn't be bothered to cook. With the help from my doc, family and this thread, I feel so much better.
I want my energy back please
Hi Little Pickle - Go to the docs, it doesn't matter if you do burst into tears - I did and still do. I've had to stop worrying about that cos I'll cry at the slightest thing anyway.
Daisyroots - thanks for the info. I've been trying to snap myself out of this and I know its not working, the journal idea sounds a good one.
RBK - good to hear from you. I've been thinking of you - take care of yourself and hope you're back soon :A
Andipandi - love the garfield cartoon - describes me to a T
Hugs to everyone that I've not mentioned and I hope that everyone's OK.
Been back to the docs and had the bloods taken - will take a week to get the results. I'm still waiting to hear from the mental health nurse but the doc will chase this up for me.
I've also got an ovarian cyst at the mo and am due to go into hospital on Monday to have a laparoscopy. Not looking forward to it but it has to be done.
Thanks for reading

Morning all :hello:
Hope you're all fine, had the appeal tribunal for my son's school yesterday.. not sure how it went but one of the panel seemed to take a shine to him and i'm hoping she'll be able to sway it our way. The letter said it would be informal and when we got there it was like a bloody court case! They had the deputy head of the school we wanted there and he was horrible... like a slimy salesman but giving reasons why they didn't want to take my son.
Today I've got a crisis talk later with my tutor as it seems the uni aren't keen on letting me resume next semester.. cos of all the time off n stuff I had  So I'm hoping she'll be able to persuade the Dean. It will be very hard to see what my future will be if I can't go back.. I'll be absolutely devastated, and that's no exaggeration.
Miro, my b'day is on friday. I'll be 30-(mumbles)

Hi Ethel and Everyone!
Thanks Ethel for your useful comments to my post 13/6/07 - absolutely no offence taken!
What I was really trying to say was.... you are not captive to your emotions.... you are so much greater than that.
- In the 'black dog' slide show [https://www.timesonline.co.uk/blackdog], there's a slide where the man throws a stick for black dog to fetch....over the edge of a cliff..
- Scholars agree that David (author of the book of psalms) was suffering clinical depression; at the time (around 1000 BC) he was king of Israel. David wrote:
"My tears have been my food both day and night";
and
"Why are you cast down, o my soul, and why disquieted within me?"
History records that the effective cure for depression David found was not to meditate on his misery, nor to associate with other depressives (who might be worse off than himself), but rather to sing songs of joy with a thankful heart absolutely in spite of his negative emotions.
This sounds completely mad, but pragmatically it worked!!
Thinking of you all
Hugs to those who need them

Hi Ethel
When I attended our appeal the teachers from the school were very off. They were very blunt and up themselves. I think that's why the parents became very fiery with them. As soon as they heard we had won, they turned into completely different people. ie "looking forward to meeting your ds/dd."When will you hear from them?
I am keeping my fingers crossed for the appeal and for your meeting with your tutor.Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0 -
Hey peeps,
Not posted in a while, been feelin pretty crap. Finally got an appointment with a counsellor but i cant help feel like it will be a waste of time.
Had an interview the other day and i think they will offer me the job. But im scared to accept it cause it would involve me being away 100+ days of the year, possibly up to 6 weeks at a time on a boat. They also said at the interview i wouldnt have much of a social life due to work.
This scares me the most, because of the break up with my girlfriend im feeling really alone. Im scared if i take this job I wont meet any one special.
Im really confused, scared and alone, ive no idea what to do.0 -

If I did not have any commitments then I would take it. Any new job is daunting especially as it entails being away alot. maybe it could be a new beginning for youLife is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0 -

thanks karrie, not sure when, they just said they would write with their decision. meantime I've managed to get him a tutor for two hours a week to try and keep him up to date with everything. We also requested that they allow him to repeat year 10 as he missed so much of it.. the LEA person said no, it contravenes their rules so the YIP worker we had with us said that's odd.. I used to work at this school and we had a few pupils who were repeating the yearLEA went bright red and had no answer so the teacher from the school went off on one. Panel lady said it made perfect sense for him to repeat the year with a big twinkle in her eye, so I'm quite hopeful about it.
