I know what I would do. I would tell him that I'd seen his statement (shouldn't have left it lying around) and ask him about it. No point in having secrets. The sooner you sit down and talk about it, the better.
I don't know about you, but it would eat away at me if I knew and didn't say something.
i agree with you Karriedon't get mad do yoga0 -

Things been getting worse for me lately and now i find my teenage son who has come through many problems and i thought was ok is now worrying 24/7. He says he has always worried but for almost a year he feels it has taken over his life and he cant sleep for worrying. He has tried all the advice about living for today etc but said he cant do it. I am concerned as mental health problems run through my family and i wonder if it could be the start of something bigger? My older sister got schizophenia when she was in her late teens (my mum got ia version of it in her fifties). Since he was little i have always wondered if it would hit my son when he was in his late teens (hes 18). I suggested he saw the doctor about his worrying and she might suggest counselling. He does not really want totake tablets - would she suggest anti-deps do you think? I dont really want him to go down that road but worried the worrying may excalate into something bigger if not treated soon.
Hi Goldie,It must be hard worrying about your son when you are suffering yourself from depression. As i do not know your Doctor it is hard to say what he would suggest but like you i think he is more likely to suggest councelling than anti-deps and maybe something for anxiety to help with the sleep problem. If the worry is so bad it is taking over his life he definately needs some sort of help so i would go to the doctors asp.It is good that he feels able to talk about it with you a lot of 18yr olds would find it hard so it shows how close you are as a family.0 -
