Based on the extortionate prices that Royal Mail charge for the rest of their sub-par services, I won't be rushing to my local Post Office to take out one of these accounts.

And you are aware the Post Office and Royal Mail are NOT the same company right? Just checking...

At the end of the day it's all about choice... the details haven't been released yet so why not wait until they have and then comment on its suitability etc. Like my mother told me, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all!

The Post Office is an invaluable service in particular to the elderly and disabled and in my opinion this account is only good news for these types of groups in society and others.

My 2p's worth. Oh happy Friday :)

I was not. I even checked the incredibly reliable Wikipedia to find out if they still were, and it told me they were. Damn you, Wiki! :p

I went in the post office the other day to buy a postal order. I took a ticket and to my horror it said I was 57th in the queue.

blimey. even at 1 minute per person that's nearly an hour ! Not to mention that most people would take ages - pension, car tax, E Bay parcels, etc. Life's too short ! The country's going to the dogs

Is it worth setting up two small direct debits in preparation for a possible switching offer?
