Imperial Travel Ltd HELP!

Heya everyone,

I'm stressed out. And need your help.

I've been on many holidays before and normally I book my own way and everything in fine. But we decide to go on a family holiday thus stupidly went onto icelolly and found Imperial Travel Ltd

We booked 6 people going to Tunisia. For what suppose to be £414 per person.

I check my bank account and they have take out £2700, that works out to be £450 per person. Not sure why!

Also I have not yet gotten any confirmation or anything.

I stupidly didn't check the reviews on the company and after reading the reviews I'm more panicked.

They have taken my money now so I'm guessing I'm stuck with them.

I have no idea how to be harsh on the phone and demand my money back. And I'm panicking because I booked behalf of my sisters. And we will kill me if she finds out.

Always been wary about icelolly and them companies why did I stupidly book :(.

Please help and advise me on what to do.

Thank you and sorry about my nervous rant.

Icelolly does seem to produce an awful lot of complaints, the first question you have to ask Imperial is why they have charged more? Have you got anything in writing, even an email from them? I suspect this is the usual, 'we assumed you wanted bags added to the booking' scam but they should tell you. If they don't and you had agreed £414 each, and they had given you a total figure for the whole booking , £2484 I think , then complain to your bank about an unauthorised debit of the difference

Icelolly is always the net price without transfers and luggage. Did they ask you if you wanted these included?

Teletext Holidays is the same, no bags or transfers included.

They also both advertise below net to get on the first page to get you to call and then the price will suddenly have gone up!!

It's about time someone stepped in and stopped this as well.

Thank you guys for your reply.

The quoted price including luggage and transfer. But it seemed that they charged us £8 booking fee and £28 tax? For each person....

Anyways nothing I can do about it. I just hope they booked everything for us (everyone has been saving for ages to go on this holiday). The reviews online for the company are horrible.

Just got my ATOL protection through (flights ONLY I thought the whole package was protected)

For anyone thats booking with any icelolly companies. Please be aware. When they start talking fast it probably means they are trying to talk fast about the hidden prices but you don't catch onto until the damage it done.

I've never booked a holiday through the phone so I got into the trap.

Well I think thats the last time I book like this. I think planning your own way sounds like a better idea.

And this is for a holiday that was advertised in icelolly for £365 per person. This should not happen..

tamiami - The prices go up & down because they're live, I usually just wait for them to come back down again if this happens before I book.

Aaaaw peacefulblossom - I always make a note of how much everything costs & then ask if there's any hidden extras like luggage & transfers ... I get them to repeat the final price inclusive of everything, then I say I'll ring back later. Once I've checked everything through I then ring & book, providing it's the right price. Don't let it put you off booking again, I've had some great deals with teletext in the past & these days the Travel Agent on the High Street can't beat them. Have a good holiday!
  • HiI am also having issues with Imperial Travel.
Firstly they quoted me £2670 for our break away December 2013 with a 1% charge for using my debit card which I didn't mind but all of a sudden the bill is £2796.45
I have not received a beak down of costs as well as my ABTA certificate. I paid £300 deposit but had to renew my bank card. I have emailed them and called them 5 times to tell them my worries and then to add my new card details each and every time was told someone would call me back as their customer service department has a 2 hour wait to get through.
I am not even sure where I stand with this holiday anymore and feel like cancelling the whole thing.
Please would anyone be able to advise me.
    Thanks
