The Sun summer holidays 2013 £15 are back!

Could I ask another question?
This year there is the online booking, the information on the Sun website seems to imply we will get an instant answer. Do I list 4 parks and 4 dates? Also if it pops up straight away saying 'no availability' will I have the opportunity to pop another 4 parks and 4 dates in?
Is it just the £15/£30pppn charge I pay at this point?
These are questions just playing on my mind, Im a bit of a geek and would like to have a list of parks in priority order ready and dont want to be rushed into making a choice (ie 5th park) and choose something thats not suitable.
The 1 concern I have is that not all parks are available on all dates, if Im looking for school holidays how do I know whether the 4 parks I am choosing already have no availability on that date, surely thats unfair?
Also if I want to make 2 bookings, so I can add 3 days to my booking do I do this after I have confirmation of my 1st?
PS Im soooo thankful to everyone so far who have helped with all the questions. I hate 'grey' areas and wish the information was so black and white but if my questions help someone else reading too...
Thanks

^^^ reply to above post....
1. Choose your 4 parks and 4 dates, with first choice park and date as choice 1. If that's not available the system will look at choice 2 and so on. If nothing is available on your parks or dates, you can change them and re enter a new set of park and or dates.
2. If a choice is available, you pay a minimum of £60 (4 x £15). As this is based on 4 sharing. If you are 2 or 3 people you still pay £60 but if you are more than 4 then you just add an extra £15 per person.
You pay the money to the Sun with a booking fee. This is non refundable. Your chosen park will either email or post you an invoice for the remaining extras such as service charge, linen and passes and tell you a last payment date, usually 6 weeks before your holiday.
3. School holidays are always popular and go quickly. Some parks won't offer the August dates, some will. Which ones, you don't know until you select them. It's pot luck. Some parks have limited availability and some are sold out on those dates so don't offer them.
4. If you are wanting to add an extra 3 or 4 days then you will need either 2 priority codes or claim by post. Once this is confirmed then you can call the park at a later date and link the 2 holidays together to make 7 days.
Hope this helps x0 -

Yes, you might have to play around with your choices. Sometimes if you put a definite date in as choice 1 but theres no availability with the park choice it will pick choice 2 park instead and vice versa to give you the best deal option.
Do make sure you are happy with the dates and park before you pay.
You can upgrade accomodation at a later date direct with the park(subject to availability).
The £9.50/£15 holidays are all based on budget/standard/basic accommodation.
The ONLY compulsory charges that you have to pay at a later date is the service charge. The park will invoice you direct. This covers cleaning and heating. Entertainment passes you DO NOT have to pay for if you are not wanting to use the sites facilities such as bars, kids clubs/entertainment, swimming pool. Beware that Haven and Park Resorts demand to see passes to get into the entertainment complex. However, at Butlins you do NOT need them. My sister booked a weekend direct with them and was not given any passes. It was also a Sun £9.50 weekend and no one was showing anything, so they do not differientiate between the two. However, they will force you to take them but phone up and cancel them. The linen charge you can take your own for free (I take sleeping bags).0 -
The best technique for booking online is to try and put in 3 dates that you know will be likely to be unavailable (ie august dates at really popular places like Butlins) and the actual date/ park that you would really like.
Then using a different computer/browser (assuming you have 2 priority codes) use the same unavailable dates/paces plus the place you want with the two dates before and after your previous booking. That way you can try and grab two breaks in the same park that run concurrently.
Mess about and once you have found to concurrent holidays, book.
I have done this the last two years for Butlins and managed to get a week both times for the school holidays (albeit the Scottish schools so both were early July).
Good luck!0 -
Hi, is there a thread where they have cracked the last code so you can book early?
Thanks0 -
The site is now open and The code has been cracked. There's a link to the page somewhere on this thread, post #490

I don't have a priority code *sob* does anyone know when the site will go live for those of us who don't have a priority code? Would be nice to have a teensy bit more of a chance of getting a holiday

Saturday. Perhaps Friday night, but given that the code-cracker didn't work because the final code wasn't a 4-letter word, I don't think there's much chance of guessing the code tomorrow.52% tight0
