Your neighbour sounds very handy!
I can't be of any help at with the credit report, but I hope you get everything that needs it seen to
Yes I suppose he is handy! He's said a few times to me to let him know if I need any car help but I've always been a bit reticent at accepting help as I don't want to take advantage. But in this case he saved me about £80.
Am lucky enough to have a roofer living the other side of me - need some work doing to the guttering and a fascia panel repair and the quote he gave me is about £100 cheaper than the other person I called.
Thinking about this it'd be great to set up some sort of 'skill share/swop' in my area. It'd be fab if you could get some guttering done in return for making some curtains for example. I wonder if its the sort of thing that would work? Like a freecycle but for skills.0 -
Hi Kate,
just caught up on your thread. Love your approach an the way you write, will be subscribing. Really good luck with your overpayments, if it helps, it seems to me that all you can do right now is throw money at it until the situation changes, which seems like a good place to start! It will never be pointless to pay extra off the mortgage!Mortgage Outstanding Nov '16 £142,772.75Mortgage Additional OPs 2017 Target £4522.80/ Actual £865.00GC Feb 0/£2000 -
So I couldn't wait any longer and today have paid off £433.29 to the last creditor. I can't even remember what that account was initially, never mind what it was for....that's outrageous and so ridiculous. Financially I'm in such a different mindset its almost like I'm not the same person.
Have notified payplan of this and cancelled my standing order to them - so think I am now out of the DMP and have paid off £21,112.42 in just under 4 years.
So am officially debt free (with the exception of the whopper of a mortgage)...............oh and a student loan but they don't count today.;)
I am meeting a colleague at lunch and am going to treat myself to an extortionately priced coffee and cake in honour of the achievement. If I can bring myself to part with the cash! Coffees have been a bit of a downfall for me - but I am much better than I used to be!
And - I'm still grinning about this this morning - yesterday I bought 36 wholemeal pitta breads for 97p from Costco - that should keep me going at lunch for a while. Such little things like this please me enormously these days and the rush of a bargain far out ways the rush of a frivolity.0 -
