car / home insurance discounts

Hi all,

My car is covered by Swift and I've just bought a house so need buildings and contents insurance which I'm obtaining quotes for.

Can anyone recommend insurers who offer discounts when you buy both?

Many insurers do multi product discount, if this outweighs the benefit of splitting between the two best value product providers is going to be a lot of leg work

Direct line are doing 40% off home insurance plus an extra 10% when you take 2 or more insurances out with them. Not that its a recommendation lol, just know they do discounts.

When is your car insurance due again? If it's within the next 30 - 60 days you could probably negotiate a good discount for taking both with the same insurer.

Many companies offer a multi-product discount but prices for home and car are calculated differently. A company can be competitive for one and expensive for the other.

Get some quotes online for both and ring any companies that seem competitive for both to ask about any discounts. (Of course make sure you check cover levels and excesses!)
