First time renters, help!!

Hi everyone,
I really need some advice. Me, my partner and our best friend are graduating in a few months and need somewhere to live, however we will not pass the reference checks as our income currently isn't high enough to afford the rent, however we have all been guaranteed full time hours at our current part time jobs. We all have guarantors in place however the letting agency will only accept one, and this seems to be a similar situation with all the others locally.
This basically means that one of our parents has to take responsibility as a guarantor for the whole rent amount, which no one will do, and I can totally see why.
Can anyone see a way round it? If we cant find anywhere to live then we will all have to move back to our parents house and lose our jobs putting us in a worse situation than we are now! After 3 years of independent life none of us want to be back under our parents roofs!
We really need some advice and help on what would be the best solution and next step!
Thanks in advance!!

Hi Alex,
I'm the same age as you... graduating soon too, eek!
Anyway, my boyfriend and I have lived together this academic year and we both had our parents as guarantors (he's in full time work).. so it can be done... I don't even need a guarantor this year with my new letting agent so it can be done.
Good luck.0 -
Have you spoken to more than one LA? Different ones have different rules. In addition, you could try and look at individual LLs - they tend to be less strict on guarantor requirements (mine just required a pulse).0
