between offering on a house when you havent sold your own but it is on the market , and selling a house , accepting an offer but not having found one yourself

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

the first is like building a new house without any foundations and the second is more akin to building a second floor on a bungalow0

If you offer on a house when you haven't sold (got a firm offer on) your own ... your offer is worthless.
When you have an offer on your own house you are then able to make real offers on a house you want.
Make sense?0 -
I see the analogy , so basically , although both very similar , one HAS to be concreted for anything on from there to work....Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Absolutley , i was just musing to myself , for example , i called an EA about a property a week or so back , just to enquire , he said to me , the vendors had not really started looking and were just going to see what they could find
To me , i would be very wary of offering on a house like that because i feel like i`d do anything to avoid a chain
Is this normal ?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

yep until contracts are exchanged, property deals are pretty ethereal at the best of times.
But unless you are in a position to splash the cash, then any offer is pretty much a figment of your imagination
You really have to start with a solid link at the bottom of the chain...0 -
you always seem to see just what you want when your not in a postion to proceed, and then when you are in the right place theres nothing, for a while anyway you just have to be patient.
Don't set your heart on a place too early dan dan it's just so dissapointing when someone else pips you to it.0
