Hi All
We are going away next weekend (19th) till the Monday , and we have a key safe the EA uses to let people in for viewings
How do i promote , or convince the EA to promote an open house kind of day ?
Is this something worth doing ?
Opinions welcome!

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

They are popular around here (bristol) with some of the agents, ours included.
They are always satirdays and the EA sends around promotional emails to the relevant people on their books about a week in advance. When things are looking desperate by Wednesday or Thursday they start to ring people up...
They will usually book slots rather than just have people turn up, but funnily enough these slots usually overlap :rotfl:
I think it is probably a good thing to try when the house first comes onto the market to create a sense of urgency on the day. I wouldn't necessarily see the point of it if a house has been hanging around a while, as anyone likely to be interested will have viewed already or dismissed it from the rightmove listing.0 -
hmmm , food for thought , thanks DRP!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

I would do it even if it has been hanging around for a while.
I'm looking for a house and the list of possibles is quite long so I haven't got around to viewing many of them, but when I get an open house email I generally go, especially if booking is not required.0 -
I generally always think, open houses mean needs a quick sale, and price can be greatly negotiated, Do you? We don't have many of them around where I live, mainl as property moves quickly if priced right.0

To be honest , i think that too , but there has been a few propertys in our town that were lovley and went open house , and they ended up being bidded up and up by various people...
I think , as long as the realistic valuation is in our heads , and knowing we must get the realistic market value due to executor status etc , then it could still be a good idea...Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

yes property moves quickly in my area too - but EAs here tend to use open days to introduce the property onto the market with bells, whistles and tickertape.
I have on rare occasions seen old stock have an open day - as you say, often to correspond with a price drop...0 -

Morning ***
There is something i wanted to try to organise, we are going away for the weekend , Friday 19th , back Monday 22nd April , so we were wondering if **** LTD could arrange some sort of house open day for that weekend for *** , thought it might be quite a good idea to try to get people through the door and have a wander round etc........?
Just trying to think of things that promote the house whilst its relatively fresh on the market...
Is this something that you would be able to sort out ?
Cheers
