Good news - after putting a dispute with paypal and then escalating the case, maximtvs gave me a full refund.

So, I will take my negative words back about maximtvs and I hope the moderator can adjust the title of this thread to reflect this.

Thanks to all who responded to this.

Just to confirm again that i may have been to quick to judge this new company so I apologise for that.

would be vary wary of this company as they are stating they sell a logik 32inch ldc telly
now as far as i know logik items are exlusive to the dixons company(they either own logik or logik is one of thier makes, cant quite remember which) and at £230 is considerably under cost price
plus its in the plamsa section when its an lcd
    would be very wary

It could be ex display or seconds, or discontinued models
  • I live in Leeds and got a Maxim flyer through the door this week.

Odd flyer, contained 'crazy' prices - too good to be true.

But it only had it's website address and that's it.

Thought I would check it out - I noticed the terms page had been copied from another website (verbatim - they should have changed the phone numbers at least!).

Then I tried the Leeds phone number and got an odd message.
When messaging via the website, the form has been incorrectly set-up and don't know if it manages to send anyone emails.

The postcode is plain WRONG - no such postocde.
The address appears wrong as well, no such building on Grant Avenue as Unit A.

So buyers beware - cannot speak to them, visit them, or complain, refund!

As I cannot even be sure where they are I won't be a victim of Internet crime.

    No thanks!

foolishly (greedily ?) i ordered a telly from these people. after some deliberation my gut instinct was that it was ok, a small business starting up selling returns at very low margin. delivery was 14-21 days. i exchanged several emails with them but surprise surpise when 21 days was up no response to emails. i have been lucky enough to get my money back from paypal as if they had no money in the account i would have got nothing. i think paypal must have frozen their account some time ago. so that's the upshot - don't be tempted by maximtvs or maximtvs.com !
