Hi Nada666
Thanks for explanation. It's ironic - there's so much detail in bills but suppliers don't think it necessary to put that sort of info in for the ordinary consumer.0 -

Hi Nada666.
Wonder if you can help on the following:
I took up ScotsPower Online Fixed Energy Jan.14 package in Sep. last (£45.99/m dd; £91.98 in credit in Dec). Now 6m later, my payment is £65/m dd, £151 in debit which I have to settle before changing supplier. True SP dropped from £71/m to £55/m on query in March. But effectively I have pd £80/m after starting off £100 in credit. Not justified by energy usage.
On estimate SP give readings of 13,663/yr gas and 721kWh/yr for elec. I have been supplying monthly readings: 5 Nov.12 - gas 8294, elec.5399, 15765; 3 Dec.12 - gas 8321, elec.00019, 00003
(15yr meter change); 3 Jan.13 - gas 8390, elec.00014,00092; 24 Jan - gas 8430, elec.00020, 00142; 6 Feb. - gas 8458, elec.00025 00175; 6 Mar - gas 8521, elec 00033, 00236; 6 Apr - gas 8594,
elec.00046, 00297; 13 May - gas 8628, elec.00067, 00350.
Hope you will know if suppliers routinely agree a lower direct debit on enquiry but accompany it by a debit entry which, in my case, they didn't reduce as promised after March.0
