Well, I'm on crutches and have stitches in my knee. The other day I had my first meeting with this lot, I had previously asked if I could go before my op or two weeks after when the stitches were removed but I was told no, she said in a "how dare you ask" kind of manner, nearly bit my head off!
So I arrived, waited, was told I have to sit through a 20 minute video all about them and the wonderful things are they are going to do for me. I had to get myself up some stairs first tho, then manoeuvre myself round a room jammed packed with computers and chairs, they'd put me in the far corner for some reason. Then they gave me some headphones to wear while watching the video, I said they won't work with my hearing aids, "oh" she says, then puts the speakers on cause unbelievably there's no subtitles on the video, it was a total waste of time watching all these happy clappy smiling people cause I didn't have a clue what the hell it was all about. I might as well have been sitting on a railway station if the noise was anything to go by.
Next, back down the stairs and met this person that's going to do wonders for me apparently. She asked a few of the usual questions, then I was somewhat taken aback at the next lot of questions, was I straight, gay or bi, what's that got to do with anything? I'm straight by the way, lol! But the best question was, have I ever had sexual transgender surgery!!!!
I've no idea who thinks of these things up but from what I've seen so far this must be costing the government a fortune and for what?

That's shocking. Seriously
My WRAG advisor has been absolutely brilliant. Showed me courses that were available to me and things like that. Even sent me for a 6 session bowen therapy treatment, which although lovely, I thought it was a waste of tax payers money, but who am I to argue.

To be honest I'm hoping they can help me find some sort of retraining to try and get a job that would suit me.0 -

Yes that's the general idea. Unfortunately most of the courses were half way through when I went to see her the first time. Unfortunately my health hasn't been up to it since thenthey sent her for massage therapy - blimey would love that

I have to admit, it was lovely. Just don't think it's what's needed in all honesty. It did help for the 6 weeks I had it, but as soon as it stopped, boom, all as bad as ever again. Just thought it wasn't right that the tax payer is paying for this kind of thing.
I now go once a fortnight for a deep tissue massage (a lot harder than bowen therapy:D) at my local college once a fortnight. Where trainees do all the therapies. And it only costs £6/session. Pity they close during school holidays thoughGetting desperate now lol.
