Around 1999 a friend of mine set a web site for me with line one using my domain name. I have not bothered with it until recently. Line one was taken over by tiscali and my friend has moved abroad. Tried having the site taken down or at least access it but have been given the run around by tiscali who cannot help but always refer me to their 50p a minute number to ring.
I own the domain name and have the paperwork.
Any ideas how I can sort this out please.
Thanks

If you own the domain name, you should be able to point it to any hosting machine that you want. When it was registered, you may have been given details of a web site to log in to manage those settings.
Given the length of time and the circumstances, you probably don't have those details though, so what you could do is look up the administrator (e.g. at http://www.whois.net/), and contact them to get login details to manage your domain.
There is a fair chance that the registrar is not that price competitive. You may want to move your domain to someone like 123-reg, who will give you basic web hosting too. You will need your current registrar to release your domain for that. Nominet (who are the top level domain owners for .co.uk) have a great web page about what to do in various cases at;
http://www.nominet.org.uk/registrants/maintain/
I hope that helps

The line one site is
