We used these people pick up outside airport to your hotel for an agreed and email confirmed fixed price. its up to you if you tip the driver, Book online all you have to do is call for free from the airport and the car will be waiting outside for extra they will meet you in the airport terminal. The best work is the cheapest as the quality remains long after the price is forgotten0 -

That looks good. There will be 4 people travelling so tickets for each person on the tube or train would probably equate to being picked up and chuaffered.0 -
As long as you aren't carrying too much, you can get a bus to Port Authority Terminal (just off Times Square, 42nd Street) from Newark for something like $6 per head. The trick is to first catch a shuttle bus to "Jersey Gardens Mall" from the airport, which only costs $1, and catch a regular bus back to Manhatten from there.

No tolls to pay, and there's no quite so much pressure to tip bus drivers as cabbies!
Special family rates for kids (under 5 travel free anyway).
PS - As an aside, sales tax is lower on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, so things can be a little bit cheaper over there anyway - not always though.0 -
Just to update the transport from Manhattan to JFK.
Used the subway E line from World Trade Centre virtually all the way to the end and then caught the Airtrain to the terminal.
Cost $2.00 for subway and $5.00 for train. So for two the total cost was $14.00
Took 50 mins on subway and 20 mins on train.
Not too much hassle with two suitcases, but wouldn't want to do it if I was in a rush or during rush hour.
What did you choose?0 -
If it's your first trip to New York go to JFK - I went for the first time this year and it made the experience...you can either catch the Sky Train which goes to Grand central station via MSG or use one of the well-regulated fixed price cabs which DON'T charge for tunnels and bridges , $40 dollars ( plus tip) and a great view of the city as you arrive ...take lots of money as the shopping is terrific ( anda half-empty suitcase !) Hope you have a wonderful time...0

Off to look at the Port Authority site now
Everybody is bombarding you with info.
It will depends on which airline you fly with and what deal you get. It maybe £50 cheaper to fly into Newark and better times etc. Or JFK may offer the better deal when you book.
All of the NY airports have good transports links now.
My personal favourite is Newark as someone else said. Airport train straight into the centre, which would be good if your are staying at MSG.****************************0 -
Hi
alison74 is right. All the airports have good transport links now. I get a taxi from JFK $45 + if work is paying. If I'm paying I get the subway!!
The subway is cheap to use when you are there also, however I only use it during the daytime.
Have a lovely time. It's a great city.
