I see O2 will sell the HTC One without a charger http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/htc-one-comes-without-a-charger-on-o2-50010833/
It seems they are selling it without a plug because they assume everyone already has one.
Most of the instructions for products I have had in the past have always stated that you should always use the charger supplied.
As this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Charger-Tablets-Androids-Blackberry/dp/B008DDG6DQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365576681&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+fast+charger is a 'fast' charger could it affect some lower grade products if it was used for charging?

The fact that item has 13 bad reviews against it, would suggest to avoid it.
As long as the USB charger gives the required Amps, then any usb charger will do, even the one you posted, but as said maybe worth avoiding as so many negatives comments. Even some lower amp rated usb chargers will work, be a lot slower thoughMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Android can be a bit funny with cheap chargers. I have one I bought from a computer fair for a few quid. It charges the Samsung I have and my old HTC OK, but if you try and use it either whilst plugged in, for some reason the charger causes issues with the touch screen. It's a known problem and if you're happy not to use your phone while charging you'll be OK.
But my Samsung charger will happily charge the HTC and vice versa without causing problems. Yo can always charge via a USB socket on a computer, but this will be a bit slower.0 -
I have a mains USB charger I bought from Lidl (among a few others that have come with various other things. I use it to charge my Sony E Reader.
Interesting thing with this, my previous Ipod Shuffle would not charge on it, but my current one will. Things are obviously changing constantly. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Thanks for the replies. The negatives posted about the Amazon charger show that it is important to use the right one.
If someone used the wrong one to charge their HTC they would not be able to make a claim so it's important to understand what you can use and what you can't.
Ideally I want one fast safe charger for all my gadgets. Has anyone got any recommendations?0
