Best sewing machine for a complete beginner

Hi there, looking for a good quality electric sewing machine for basic home alterations eg taking up hems on trousers, hemming curtains etc. looking to spend £90 max. Looking for recommendations. Got to be easy to use with a decent instruction book. New preferred.

No offence but sewing is pushing the realms of DIY! maybe you would get better help on a sewing forum.

This board is for anything money saving related to the home, and NOT just for DIY, if you actually look at its title!

if you actually calm down, I wasn't being rude, just suggesting the OP might get better help from a sewing forum.

To be fair, the question wasn't about saving money or DIY, but recommending a sewing machine, so I stand by my post.
