I received a Kindle Fire as a birthday present on Sunday. On Monday I tried to transfer files from my HD on the laptop to the Kindle via usb lead but without luck. I went on messenger chat with an Amazon rep who told me to copy and paste the file from My Music area to the Music area on the external Kindle device, which I managed. However today I received a CD I bought and wanted to put this on the laptop. I connected the lead to the USB once again and although nothing automatically happened, the same as the last time where I had to go to the device meter in My Computer/Kindle and click to open it. I then moved it to another USB on my laptop and this time it started to automatically sync, though not everything on my laptop, but it copied a small number of pics and music, tho not the music I wanted from the CD, tho I noticed that had errors in the Window Media library I copied it too, tho it does play in Windows Media and also the Kindle area on the computer, but will not transfer to pc. Also. as I deleted a lot of the music and pics I copied I tried to put one file back on but it isn't there, tho the other files were on my laptop HD under Kindle, even when not on the kindle and I now can't seem to transfer any music from HD to Kindle Device, it just stays in the Kindle area on the pc. Amazon live chat couldn't help me tonight and want me to voice call tomorrow, but I find it easier to write things dpwn. I don't know if I am making sense, but wonder if my device is faulty if it does different things each time I connect the USB. My mum bought it from Carphone Warehouse and I don't have the receipt if it is faulty or know when I'll see mum next. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.
