They are not bank managers that you are seeing
    You're wrong in my case.
why do do many people say that
Because I know, in my particular case, who my bank's manager is. If you want I can point you to an online local news article that mentions him by name, as the bank manager (nothing to do with banking - indoor hockey of all things.)
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
  • If it is a small branch it may be the manager that you see, our branch manager even goes on the counter, he has to at times as there is no one else.

Sorry guys but must be different in my bank

so BM in ejones case is an assitant manager and senior branch manager is branch manager

ours are busy dealing with risk, complaints, observations ect, oh and covering counter/reception

managers are not allowed to sell as they would not sell enough times to remain competent (ie advised insurance sales)- they supervise others. of course they can open savings accounts and bank accounts, but not loans , credit cards, mortgages, standalone insurance ect - and we wouldn't want them to as they are not targeted as individuals in that way, but as we get bonus based on branch and service its ok

My interview was 'after hours' - I cannot attest to my BM's behaviour during working hours, though (as mentioned elsethread) I suspect he's not there during dinnertime.

LTSB in a rural branch if it means anything :)
