Hi,
I'm looking into getting this santander 123 credit card. It gives cashback at petrol stations and supermarkets.
Do these places charge card usage fees? How big are they? Say on £50 of diesel or food?

There's no surcharge for card payments at petrol stations.0

They do not charge the customer a fee - the price of your fuel/goods is what you pay.0

Cool, what about supermarkets generally?0
-
No, they don't charge. At least I have not seen any that do, but some supermarkets don't take credit cards at all like, say, Aldi.0

Thanks all, i've never really used credit cards to my benefit apart from protection on big purchases. So its all a bit strange territory to me.0

I would imagine that supermarkets and petrol stations take 90% of their payments by card these days. After all, who carrys round £50 cash to fill their car with go-go juice?0

Probably more than that. Some petrol stations now only take card via the pumps at night.
For the OP:
It is unusal to be charged a surcharge anywhere unless purchasing something from an Airline, cheap hotels and goverment/council things. The odd occasion a small shop might charged extra.0
