Hi, as title says how do i and to whom? Story is simple, someone has messaged me saying they are a us soldier posted in afghan and they have some gold and diamonds they need to get into the uk. They say if i send them £500 they will send me the jewels and then i will transfer them on and whatever the price difference is i keep for my trouble. Im not daft i know its a total con. I didnt let them know i was clued up and they have hassled me all week. I have all the western union details (from ghana lol). Is there somewhere in particular i can report this to? As of now this person thinks im planning to send the money (im not). If he is hounding me he is leaving someone else alone, just want advice on reporting really and letting peeps know there is someone on fb doing this diamond scam at the mo. Cheers x x

Police, just to warn them it is going on. As you have the western union details they may be able to track down who it is. This person may be messaging alot of people and some may be taken in by it so would be worth a call to them so they can spread the word.0

Are you two nuts?
If not you both have been living in a cave for the last decade. Have neither of you received emails from princes looking to reward you with riches?
Jeez, just delete it like everyone else, nobody is going to fly out there to catch those clowns, it's only Facebook too, its not as if it is real life.0 -
Read somewhere there was a dedicated team who deal with things like this, mind you that's probably a scam too lol. I know what you mean though, should just delete but was hoping to do some good. Reported it to fb as a start. Maybe crimestoppers or something? They have mailed me loads of info on western union account and get this, they advised me to be careful as there are people out there who will use WU to con people!! Shouldn't laugh but was kinda amused. Cheers for help xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

Facebook do have a team that work with various law enforcement agencies, to stop people using their site for criminal activities. So report it to Facebook then just ignore it.current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500

Well you can report it to the suggested places if you want but seeing the scammer lives in Ghana do you really think anyone in the UK can do much? Even if you report it to Facebook they'll just ban the account but it's easy to buy Facebook accounts. As someone else said, just delete it, nothing can really be done if the person lives in Ghana!0

Fb are dealing with it, wanted awareness more than anything. Strangely since i reported it to fb this person has disappeared!!! Wolly! Just glad of sites like this etc that publicise scammers, otherwise im sure people would fall for it. Thanks for all input, i tried my best but sometimes there is only so much one can do really!!!
