Hi
I will be reserving a taylor wimpey new build flat this coming saturday, using the newbuy scheme to get my mortgage. The salesman at the showhome says that I have to use their IFA to get my mortgage because of newbuy. Is he lying? I know which product I want, so I can't see why I can't just go to nationwide myself and arrange th mortgage. Has anyone who has been through this scheme got any advice?
Many Thanks

Newbuy is predicated on builder's agreed lender and builder's agreed broker. If you want to step outside that, ask the lender. They will not accept brokers not on the builder panel, but they may let you go direct. Their choice.
Nationwide, for example, you have to get a Newbuy DIP and attach the Newbuy supplement with the builder's details and scheme number.I am a mortgage broker.
