rent to buy schemes

Has anyone got any experience of how this works and what the pros and cons are? I own a property and because people are struggling to get a mortgage, I can't sell my property so am considering the rent to buy scheme-any thoughts appreciated.

Rent to buy is offered by Housing Associations as a form of social housing. You rent a property at below market rate and are offered the opportunity to buy it, also at below market rate, a little later.
