Removing scratches on acrylic bath

I am after some advice regarding my acrylic bath which has unfortunately sustained some damage since being installed in January.
First I managed to scratch it at the shower end (couple of scratches, not sure how), and then my new cleaner used some abrasive cream cleaner all over it... My fault really, I should have been clearer which products to use. So now the bath has two large and many many small scratches. Is there any way of buffing it up, or spraying on a layer of something or other (?) to repair the damage? Any companies that offer acrylic bath repair?
Initially I thought I'll cough up to have a nother one installed, but that would cost in the region of £600+ (the bath is tiled in on all sides including the panel).
I'd be really grateful for any hints/tips/experiences. Thanks!

Depending on the depth of the scratches, it may be possible to compound and polish it............. do you know anyone who sprays cars for a living? they'd know what that means0

Many thanks for the replies. These plastic surgeon people don't seem to deal with the general public, or at least that's the impression I get from their website. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who sprays cars :-)
I think I'll try this product tomorrow: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/Consumables/Kitchen+and+Bath+Polish+90ml+Acrylic/d20/sd2711/p41739
The bath can hardly look any worse so it's worth a try.0 -

Have a search on google for something similar to the plastic surgeon - we had to have a shower tray repaired in a motorhome and they did all sorts of repairs to bathroom type plastics etc.0
