Left money in ATM and walked away

I know it's a long shot......a very long shot, but I took money from the ATM earlier and walked away without taking it.
Is there anything I can do?
It was relatively quiet at the time and no one was behind me.
Does the machine take back the money, and if so after how long (it was a Tesco one). If it does, do I need to contact the bank?
I'm expecting to lose the money, but just thought I'd check.

You could try asking the shop - maybe an honest joe handed it in? Unlikely but you never knowWhat will your verse be?

Around 20 secs to go back in.
Other than that contact your bank and get them to look into it, if it has not reversed.
Pointless going back to the store they cannot do anything.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

If someone handed the money back with a forgotten receipt they might be able to do something. What will your verse be?

You can do two things. Go into tescos to see if some kind soul has handed it in. The other thing would be to go to your local branch. They can put a claim in. If the money has been sucked back into the machine, when the atm is reconciled they should have more than expected and the money will be returned. If someone has taken your money then the atm will balance and you won't get anything.0

The funds may get credited back to your account overnight.
If not you will have to raise an ATM dispute with your card issuer.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

I did this. The machine sucked it back in.
I had to raise teh qury with my own bank (they were resistant but I insisted it was their role) the issuing bank credited it back to me after about a week.0 -
I have done this twice :T
First time it was automatically credited back second time I called my bank with the ATM location etc.
Got it credited back saying something along the lines the other bank was taking to long so credited back as goodwillBad luck breeds bad luck.
Damn I'm doomed.0 -
Its possible it was sucked back in, I'm sure the question has already been answered on here anyway.0

Steve by any chance have you checked your bank account?
If nobody was around to snatch the money then it might well have been re-credited back to your account.0
