Our food bill hasn't increased since before DD was born, and she's 2.5 now. She's never had "special" or children's food. She's had normal food - the same as we've eaten - since she was 5 months old and grabbed a handful of salad off my plate.

No pur!e, no mush. Just normal food. They don't eat as much as you think between 2 and 3.

If you think babies "need" pouches or jars at £1+ a pop -

How can you have a 2 year old daughter and not have a higher food bill? :o I suppose she has water and isnt even allowed fruit snacks during the day cause that would be extra on your shopping bill like buying her orange juice and banannas...

She has a banana every day, actually, -sometimes 2! - plus 3-4 pieces of other fruit. Plus breakfast, lunch and dinner, of course. Orange juice is no good for anybody - no fibre and plenty of sugar and acid to destroy teeth.

I cook mostly from scratch - which costs less. A 2 year old probably eats a 6th of an adult portion of dinner or less. We don't miss that off our plates!!

Because you eat slightly less. Your two adult meals now feed two adults and a child without increasing overall consumption.

Sorry I was just being a tad sarcasitc as this would cost money...which was my point unless you complety changed your habits before the child came it would cost more so it would be an exception...so its just a moot point.

I know its easy to get the wrong end of the stick sometimes when your glancing through posts so I understand ;)

It costs money, but not more money. We're not eating takeaways like we did before DD, or going out as much. I used to buy puddings, now I buy good quality yoghurt. I used to buy wine, now i buy more fruit. So our food bill hasn't increased.

Where did I say our habits haven't changed?

I said that DD eats what we eat. That's true.

I said that it hasn't cost any more to feed her. It hasn't.

I'm not sure what you're finding so hard to understand.

    (PS - it's not always "I before e". It's "their", not "thier". ;))

See Underlined text for reply...Cba to keep repeating myself to be quite honest and spamming the thread with this insane arguement that is not even relevant to my orignal post which the point was that unless you changed your habits then the food shopping couldn't be lowerd....

Your also not the first to comment on my spelling, I generally just ignore them but yes I am dyslexic. Lovely to swoop so low though.

    Yup thats correct. :rotfl:

Ok her food bill hasn't changed not because they have changed thier eating habits but because she eats the fruit that the parents dont eat anymore and drinks what the parents drink and has all her meals exactly the same as adults even her 1/3 of a piece of toast is basicly free.

I hold my hands up :-) You win.

Yes, habits changed. I no longer work in London, or pull 12 hour days. I don't buy handbags and shoes costing several hundreds of pounds. I don't have my hair cut as often, or go to the pub or out for food several times a week. We don't do holidays several times a year.

All sorts of habits change when you have a child. There's something a bit wrong if they don't!!!!

Ill say it again... that wasnt my point tho!

I said orignally that unless you change your eating habits then the food bill wont get lower...

I dont understand why you are getting so worked up - fighting everything I am saying but keep saying you've changed your habits?

It wasnt my point - so its a moot point

Gah can you just re read my posts instead of replying the same thing over and over and making me say the same thing back again?
