Youth PCC Resigns - Who is paying the salary

The UK's first youth police and crime commissioner, has resigned from her post ....

she was appointed to the £15,000-a-year post six days ago.

Who pays for this role.

AIUI the PCC was to be paid ~ £70K plus an adminstartor ~£25K?

I remain to be convinced these roles are worth it but is there scope creep going on?

The dopy bint who employed her should be sacked. She was on the radio earlier defending her 2 day selection process, which neglected to look at social media.

I feel sorry for this girl, she should never have been put in this situation.

Joeskeppi - I agree she should never have been put in this situation, but don't feel sorry for her.

She's a nastly little racist, homophobic, drug-endorsing, binge-drink supporter. A nasty, snivelling piece of work with no backbone.

She was the wrong choice and Ann Barnes showed incredibly bad judgment - and so did Paris Brown. What credibility would she have had going into Black areas to try to persuade teenagers to make the choices to become responsible adults after these racist comments.

PS - Ann Barnes should go, but we know she'll just hang on to her nice little earner, don't we?

No she isn't, she's a teenage girl who says the same thing as 99% of her mates.

Granted probably not fit for the role she was selected for but no different to thousands and thousands of people.

I mean binge drink supporter? I guess that makes me one. I'm was out on the lash last weekend, waaaaaay!

If everyone who had ever used the word fag genuinely was homophobic this would be a very sorry planet.

Joeskeppi - perhaps you are a sweeter, gentler person than I am.

She actually said that the cast of Made in Chelsea looked like f.....ing fags. And it's not a term I have ever used.

For someone who is supposed to be representing young people, and able to be in rapport with them, helping and counselling, she's certainly not a great role model, and I would think she's excluded a substantial part of her audience, who might well need her to represent them.

She appears to be an intolerant person in a job where she needs to be making a connection with young people. How can you do that when you are so intolerant.

Shes a teenager, not an adult. The tweets in question were made when she was a child

You cannot judge a childs actions with adult rules. She was probably a good choice to represent youth, someone who is like the majority of who she represents, not some snotty private school kid with no clue

If I said half the stuff I say down the pub to my mates at work I would be instantly sacked. I expect the same is true for many people. She's just a stupid kid who wrote some rubbish on social media who wasn't sensible enough to understand what the consequences would be. She was obviously inappropriate for the role but nowhere near as bad as the press are making her out to be.

I'm sure all the journos who are pillorying her are whiter than white but the rest of the population talks !!!!!! all the time. People need to get over it and stop trying to hold others to mythical standards that no one actually adheres to.

She's stupid, she shouldn't have said that stuff, it's sickening. She was right to stand down.

But are we as adults really right to take on kids for things they wrote when they were 14? A lot of us did stupid stuff then. It may not have been racist or homophobic, but we were probably daft in other ways. We're just lucky that those older and wiser than us were never able to hang us with twitter.

If any good whatsoever comes out of this it will show children and teenagers that what they put on the internet is not just shared with friends but can be used to slam them round the head at a later date. I really hope this becomes part of the curriculum because kids are saying way too much.

Young people are intolerant. I said some horrible things as a teenager.
