Due to Exchange - Buyer Pulls Out

To keep anyone who followed my previous sale thread informed, we got to the stage where we were due to exchange and our buyer has now 'had a change of circumstances'.
Obviously gutted as we may now lose our onward move (not to mention the fees that we have paid out thus far).

I can only sympathise as this also happened to us two years ago, its not a nice situation at all and also a financial loss.
Keep your him up and I hope a new buyer comes along very quickly0 -
Awful! Really hope you find another buyer soon and don't lose the one you're hoping to buy.

Sorry to hear, we are close to exchange and I am dreading a situation like this.. Gutted for you..0

nooooooooooooooooo
Nightmare really feel for you0 -
Commiserations, it's every vendor's nightmare & hope you soon find another buyer. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
If its any comfort, that happened to me on the day of exchange, just before Easter. My seller is sticking with me for the moment (as its less trouble than putting their property back on the market), and I have just had an offer on the property this time round which is rather better than the one I lost - certainly enough to cover the extra legal costs I've incurred so far. Early days, but I'm feeling much happier than I was when it happened! Its not a bad time of year to sell a property. I hope it works out for you.0

On a similar theme to this. It has taken nearly 6 months from acceptance of the offer on our property to where we are now and we still haven't exchanged contracts!
We are in a chain of 4 and are waiting for the begining of the chain (investor) to return their signed contracts and pay the deposit. They have had these documents for nearly 2 weeks and still haven't returned them. Why??
I have now told my solicitor and the EA that if we don't have any movement before the 26th April we shall re-advertise our property again.
For me, this is a classic illustration of the problems with both the conveyancing system in England and a lack of commitment and respect by some buyers.0 -
I feel for you all. The system in England is awful. Our Scottish system has its foibles too, but at least once you have agreed a sale then that is definite.
We are however more flexible than in England, we (personally) have never experienced these chains. Bridging loans or moving into rented or with family are more common IMHO.0 -
Sorry to hear that Roxie - do hope you find another buyer very soon & don't lose the place you're hoping to buy........Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
