Virgin Media phone billing screwup?

Happened to glance at my landline phone bill last night (something I don't normally do) and started ranting about the amount of mobile calls on there. Asked my wife and daughter who they were, then realised non of us recognised any of the them...THEN realised some of them were made while the house was empty (we went away for the weekend) and some were made while we were at work / school.
Tried calling some of them, and spoke either to complete strangers or organisation we don't use (Abbey national and First Direct, for example)
(At this point suggested that relatives with keys had been nipping in and using the phone...)
VirginMedia say it is a billing error, that we haven't actually been charged for those calls. Although they appear on the paper copy of the bill, the telephone numbers simply do not show against are telephone number on the billing system.
I can vouch for the fact that VirginMedia have just undergone a rather large system migration that could cause this - all the same I would advise that you have a look at the bill thats just arrived and satisfy yourself that your not being charged for any numbers you don't recognise...
