With a youtube film (2 mins) on screen, ready to view, I have connected a cable via usb on laptop to micro on tablet, clicked on play and the youtube video runs.
I had hoped it would transfer onto my tablet, but it hasn't. What do I need to do ?

Yes, I googled tubemate but it seems there are variations, my tablet is GoTab 6 inch Android 4.0 Tablet and I can't find it there. The trouble with me is I am hesitant, just in case I do anything wrong. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you're just trying to watch YouTube on your tablet does the GoTab not come with the YouTube app preloaded?
If not its free from the playstore - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.youtube

Bluboy's on the money here - youtube has different encodings for different target platforms, watch it via the youtube client on your tablet, it'll pick up the right version for you0

You may have read elsewhere that I called myself thick, so now you know. Yes, you're right, it is on the tablet, what's more, when I looked at your link, it said it was installed on the tablet, so there you go.
My original intention, was to download a few things that I could view when on rail journeys where there was no wifi. Nothing more nothing less. I thought I'd be able at the touch of a button to click on a youtube video and as it ran, it would be transferred to my tablet. Seemingly I have half done it, because when I looked deep into the tablet youtube, there were some that I'd selected. There had been no screen message saying it was being downloaded. Will try again tomorrow.
What about a film. Maybe you would direct me to the route which would provide the appropriate app, then a website that would offer free films.
If that can't be done, maybe something from either iplayer bbc or itv ?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Plenty of Streaming video downloaders out there, just do search for youtube video downloader, may be easier to do on pc.
As for apps, yes plenty out there to allow you to watch free films legally and illegally, all depends on what films you want. But you need to watch them as they stream.
As of yet iplayer will not allow you to download programs onto android device. Not tried itv player, but would assume the same as to no download of programs.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
