Selling on Amazon?

Hi all - after a bit of advice really. How easy/feasible/practical is it to sell on Amazon? I have a lot of french literature paperbacks (from my degree 10 or so years ago!) that are in great condition (most never read - oops!),and I see on Amazon that there are some for sale in the used sections for around £4-8 each which would be very useful money!
I've done some selling on eBay (cheap 2nd hand house clearance stuff) but found it wasnt really worth it on a small scale in terms of the fees charged and the hassle from numpty buyers/chancers! Would I be likely to get a similar or more valuable experience on Amazon?
I can't find clear details of what fees they charge before applying for an account, could anyone maybe help make this a bit clearer? Is there a feedback/review/DSLR system such as eBay? Are they linked with paypal in a similar way?
Thanks in advance!

There is a thread here that is a bit out of date, but the basics are covered in the forst couple of posts:

If a book sells at £4 you will receive net proceeds of £4,76 and that includes the postage credit . If you can keep it wrapped below 8cms then 2nd class mail would be £2.60.
You will need a credit card to register to sell and there is no charge for listing.
I used to sell professionally on Amazon, but th emarket died fo rme, so always look at the ranking of books. I tend not to list anything under £5 now and only then if the ranking is less than a million.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. hi ive used amazon before to sell dvds and books. i find it easier than ebay as when you enter their barcode a picture of it appears you then enter condition etc and choose a price. No downloading photos.
There are no auctions so it could sell in a day or a month. Fees are expensive . i sold a book the other day for about £3 and amazon took £1.26 off me in fees, but you make a few pence in postage. hth0 -
If you go through the process of listing an item for sale it is fairly self explanatory as you go along, including what you will be charged in fees/receive on sale. Click on the 'sell yours here' on the item page.
If you need to add anything to your account, credit card, etc, it will tell you that too.
Be careful with condition description, I always err on the side of caution, so if I think it's very good condition I'll usually mark as good. As with Ebay be honest with condition details..0 -
I tried to sell some books that I had on Amazon with limited success.
As a buyer, it is not the best place to buy books, however low the price, as the fee for postage is set by Amazon (could it be £2.80 or so per paperback book roughly?), and if you buy new books at 1p dismayed to find that no postal discounts come off at checkout you could well be overjoyed to have only paid 1p for a new book so find and add 10 of them to your basket, for 10p off various sellers, and then find that standard post for them will come to a total of £28.00!
Basket gets emptied and ebay gets searched instead LOL
There are still numpties on Amazon as they are members of the public, and they as buyers can rate and leave feedback but most never do leave feedback really half and half , you dont get to use Paypal at all as a buying and selling option only your own bank card/debit or credit can be used to buy and sell at Amazon , buyers never see your details as it is all done through Amazons checkout, and you only get shown the buyers name and address and told to post inside of 2 days or you wont get paid.
It is free to list on Amazon and their prices are clearly shown and the fees they will take when you sell something, so no monthly bill.0
