New UPVC windows install - before or after decorating?

Hi all,

Has anyone any experience of how much mess/damage having new windows installed causes to the walls around the windows?

Due to move into a house next week and I wanted to decorate straight away. But we are having new windows installed in the summer (from wood to UPVC) and don't want to then have to take down blinds/curtains and patch up any damanged decor.

If it causes a lot of damage around the walls etc then i should just wait before decorating.

Any experiences much appreciated.

Putting new windows in after decorating is a ridiculous idea. You may be lucky and have no damage to the window reveal. But in my experience, it is quite likely that there will be some damage, even if only a little.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

A good fitter want make a lot of mess, but there's always going to be a little. Change your windows first.
It's like you should always paint the ceilings before fitting new carpets, no matter how much you cover them up you'll get drips on them.
    So the big jobs first.
