Hello lovely DFWers!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:

Today I will:

- send everyone to school/work with packed lunches
- do a couple of hours of invigilating at school
- do a mystery shop and load my results onto the computer
- have a NSD apart from mystery shop
- collect a cheque from someone and pay straight into the bank

Have a good day everyone x

Felt really sorry for myself yesterday but after some really kind words off Hynpo and Looking Ahead (thanks guys) I've realised that I've got to stay positive, so even though I'm not doing much lately to reduce my debt, what I am doing is not increasing my debt!!!

So with that in mind, today I will/have
    - checked online banking
    - done piggy comps and clicks
    - packed lunches for all

Hope you all have a good day and thanks again for the support x

Morning hypno and GR! Hope you both have big ol' smiles on your faces.

I'm devoting lots of my DFW energy on loosing weight (that's not to say i'm spending, just am not worrying about cash as much as normal), so for me today, all i've done is:

    - Checked online banking (and paid CC)
    - Packed lunches for myself and OH

Yesterday I walked an extra 2 miles more than normal, so intend to do the same today :)

    Have a lovely day xx

    Hi

can I sneak in here. Debts were ticking along fine - going down but not big enough to worry about. But they've started to creep up again. So in my head they've gone up twice, not only have they not gone down, but they've gone up (also in my head that sentence makes sense. Sorry). So I need to get a grip.

    Today's DFW tasks
-take last night's leftovers for lunch
    - check online banking and get money in check.
    - take out cash for trip to london.

    thanks

Hi all - hypno and gr especially, hope you're doing okay today.

    Today, I have/I will:
    - do quite a bit of admin around work, thats been lying around for ages.
    - finish off checking my bank statements (uh, another one arrived yesterday, thats 3 - I must *never* get into that situation again).
    - work on my affirmation, maybe update my sig here with it if I have the courage.
    - start phoning the structural engineers I found about the house renovation.
    - sit back now and just go through with my financial experiment/training, including a free online course.

Waited five minutes so I could get cheaper bus to work.
Brought some sensible shoes so I can walk home.
Going to sit down tonight and work out budget for next month properly, and set up a spreadsheet for keeping track of what I spend.
Also going to try and make a list of all the sites for surveys/ earning points/ vouchers/ cash that I've joined and actually put some regular effort into building up points rather than just randomly doing a few clicks when I remember.

    Have a lovely day :)

    morning all

so far today (and it's still early) I have

renewed library book to stop charges spiralling out-of-control until I can get to the library without making a special journey (and incurring costs).

    checked online banking.

booked free fitness class at gym (need to leave soon...........).

    later I hope to

come straight home from gym and concentrate on housework & gardening and KEEP AWAY FROM SHOPS.

Feed everyone entirely from stuff already in.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hello!

GirlRacer, you're so right. If you are not increasing your debt whilst the times are tough for actually throwing extra cash at the debt then that's very much a positive.

It's all too easy to say "Oh s*d it...I'm going out spending money to cheer myself up..." it's almost part of human nature! But it's not the right thing to do. Well OK the odd bar of choccy or something is ok...we can forgive that ;)

Well my DFW things today were:

    * Got lifts to & from work
    * Did QuidCo searches & piggy comps
    * HM lunch to work
    * BF is making us a curry from stuff we had at home

Not a great deal but, like G_R knows....they all help to keep the debt from going up.

Here's to tomorrow and hoping we'll all manage something little extra. :)
