Can I get legal help against TC?

Please could anyone help.

I was working part-time but stopped in July 2005 to have a baby born aug 2005.
During maternity leave there was a few changes of which tax credit were informed.

Whilst on maternity leave became pregnant again.
Returned to work in june 06 left in October '06 had baby Nov.

There were obviously these changes also.

Money going into bank account changed but have not received award notices.
I was sent my review last April which I completed and sent in and have also done this years.

To my record that is the only correspondance I have received from them since November 2005.

They will not tell me what figure they have for my income as they cannot disclose this over the phone but how else am I to know.

I have been onto them about my lack of award notices. I was told there had been a glitch on the system which was now sorted that was about 3 months ago.

Since then 2 people were looking into it and would call me back.

Someone else had spoken to her team leader and she was going to produce one for housing benefit purposes. Still no sign.

I was also told that I would definately receive one after my review was done.
When I did the review over the phone was told that it was take 7-10 days to get the notice to me that was 3 1/2 weeks ago.

I know it is a different situation but anyone who is trying to reclaim their bank charges will be familiar with the data protection act that allows them to have copies of their account information.
Does anyone know of a similar thing to this data protection act?

I have also read that some people have been informed that some award notices have been sent to the wrong address what if this has been going on for the last 18 months

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
  • Had a quick look and just got a bit lost.
I think it is a bit late so I need to have a look when I have time in the day but thank you anyway

Theres no problem with award notices going to the wrong address.

You can ask for all details held by the tax credit office to be sent to you. You have to write in and ask for all infor held under your name. Say you want it under the 'Freedom of Information Act'. They have to supply you with the info within 40 days by law. Be warned though, the computer system is so complex you are likely to get a pile of A4 paper about 6 inches high

Also, if you still haven't had your award notices write in to the customer support unit, TCO, Preston. They will get award notices to you.

It's the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Info Act is different.
