It was just a bit of a surprise as I have paid every month and even increased my payments three months ago.

Is the purpose of this face to face to talk to me about my income and outgoings and how much I can afford to pay? I do this every three months with them so I dont get why he needs to come to my home. Can I just rearrange my next three months payments with them over the phone again once I cancel my appointment?

Only a Judge can request to see you income and outgoings, so dont give it to these fools.

Thank them for the I&E form, explain you have filled it out and you now have to reduce your offer to £1.00 per month for 6 months.

Dont let them tell you what to pay - ITS YOUR MONEY. YOU PAY WHAT YOU WANT.

Only the Police acting under Oath, the Postie and people lost asking for directions are allowed at your front door without invite.

But, as you have made an appointment this is now a grey area.

Who is the company who is now acting on behalf of BH?

You can still withdraw permission then it becomes black and white again :D

I would write to them stating the offer of a home visit is rejected and any implied right of access is withdrawn upon the property or its grounds to ant persons acting in connection with this file.

How old is this loan, they are an old Lender, I would post up some dates, this may be a debt collector who has bought a statute barred file.
Worth a punt, when did you take the loan out.
    Be happy...;)

    Have a nose through this:

I would only deal in writing, as they will also pressure you on phone and tell you stuff to scare you that they would never write to you.

Writing/email is the way forward unless you have call recording facilities and can hold your own on the phone :)

Its still black horse as far as I am aware. I called black horse and they transferred my call to this guy who now was in control of my account.

Ive never had a problem with bh since my payments have reduced they've never pressured me into paying more than I could afford and actually tried to discourage me into increasing my payments 3 months ago.

This is making me really nervous as I feel very in control of my finances now and am in a position where I am managing my debt quite well it feels like Im losing control.

Do you think that if I cancel my appointment bh will become agressive in their pursuit of the debt?

Let them be aggressive; if they take you to court (and its a big IF), no judge is going to side with them when they can see you've been making regular payments.

Cancel the appointment and continue with the current arrangement.

Thanks everyone. The visit is this wednesday so I dont think a letter cancelling the appointment would get to them in time!

I'm quite good at handling myself on the phone I just dont want to be scrutinised, judged and harrassed in my own home. The loan was taken out in 2008 over 60 months i've been paying reduced payments for the last year. I should be paying £275 a month but am currently paying £100.

    I shall call and update!

I would listen to what they have to say but I would then politely tell them an agreement will only be reached if they write to me.
