help with parking eye company please

Hi, I have received a letter today stating we owe parking eye £100 or £60 if we pay within the next 14 days.
We parked our car on a local hotel carpark which we didn't know charged or and never saw any signs. We were there for 31 minutes which is apparently a full 1 minute over the 30 minutes grace period you get (found out they had a grace period as rang the hotel)

A few people have told me to ignore this letter and after reading a few threads on here and other places it seems alot of people say to ignore. Where as others say to appeal but then they get the nod that they are sending the parking charges to the right address.

Just wondering what the general thought is and if they were to tale me to court like they have a few people do I stand a chance of winning as it was only 1 minute over the time?

Any help would be great thank you

You only had to read a few threads, here's one of DOZENS of current ones you can read about Parking Eye, this one updated today!

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4509519

And in your case you were clearly not PARKED in excess of 30 minutes were you - seeing as PE take photos of a car arriving and then leaving (not 'parked'). Don't call the 30 mins a 'grace period' in your challenge as that actually means something else that may help you, to do with an allowance of time to 'arrive and read the signs and leave'. What you are talking about is a 30 minutes 'free parking time' isn't it? If so then you can reasonably expect to be able to add any grace period to 'arrive, park up, read the signs and leave' to that 30 mins free parking time of course.

    :)

P.S. Don't respond to any private messages offering to 'help' or asking where this was and when, and don't give any more detail of date/time/place here.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Parking Eye, don't you just love them :/ , My story can be found here, but I took the advice from people off here and never paid, its now over 12 months since the alleged offence and after receiving about 2 so called "Final Notices" its all gone quiet and never heard anything off them since! SO GLAD I DIDN'T PAY THE THEIVING PARKING SPIES!

Had 3 letters from them 1st parking charge notice
2nd parking charge notice to owner
    3rd final notice
then no more to this day & that was in 2011 do not pay, do not try any correspondence with them at all, I have never heard of one of the companies similar to Parking Eye taking the alleged debt to court because they know they would never win
TO ENTER CODE - press station preset button 1 repeatedly for 1st diget of your keycode - repeat the same on - 2 for 2nd - 3 for 3rd - 4 for 4th - & if the display then shows the correct keycode number press preset button 5 to enter - photo shows radio extractor keys & serial number on the radio casing - go to u-tube & see remove ford radio

That's wrong now because it's out of date info. PE have tried a few recent small claim papers - so recent that we don't think there have been any hearings yet. Several cases are on pepipoo (and with 'Civil Enforcement' trying it on as well as PE) all of them aimed at ignorers...all defendable but not worth the worry IMHO.

That is why we now advise 'challenge, then appeal strongly to POPLA' and get it cancelled. And because POPLA costs the PPCs money to see their fake PCN cancelled!

Template challenge letter for initial challenges to PPCs suggested here, hot off the presses from Parking Cowboys:

    http://www.parkingcowboys.co.uk/appeal-letter/

Designed to be a thorn in the side of a PPC as an initial challenge/demand for info, without being any kind of appeal nor giving away any driver info whatsoever.
