Homebase Card - buy now pay later

I'm after a bit of advice from anyone who may have been caught out with this before or who can help.

Basically I bought a kitchen from Homebase on a buy now pay later (12 months) scheme. I missed the payment due date and subsequently had 12months interest back dated.

I did check my online account and statements regularly expecting to see a notification that the payment was due but this didn't happen and i missed it by a week or so.

I've looked back at statements and the online account and believe that they are designed to confuse and are not very clear at all. I complained to Homebase and was refunded 50% and told i'd got to the end of their complaints procedure and that i had to contact the financial ombudsmen if I wasn't happy. I have decided to pay the other 50% so that i didn't incur further charges but I'm wondering if it is worth taking this further. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks

Do you mean Homebase online account?
What sort of payment it was and what notification did you expect? Was it not a DD? If so, why?

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
