Help wanted, buyers confirmed address is not confirming at the postoffice

Hi, im looking for some advice for my partner.
He has sold £50 item, he went to post it at the post office today, although the buyers address is confirmed in paypal and its marked OK to post, the post office couldn't confirm the buyers address.
My partner didnt post it, came home and contacted the buyer who has said their address sometimes doesn't come up on computers, and has said to post to his parents address instead.
I dont suspect that the buyer is trying to scam my partner, but would he be covered within ebay if there were a problem to arise from this address issue? He has a ebay message asking for it to be sent to the other address, but would this be enough?

Use a third party address checker such as on a site like this:
https://www.myhermes.co.uk/wps/portal/PN_CTR/Home/homepage/
(you might need to log in)
Go to send a parcel and put in the post code only, and it will come up with all the available options for that post code. This helps you see where the problem is, like it will say Lower Flat no. 3 instead of 3B for example.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Hi,
You have to post to the address shown on paypal to be covered as a seller. Best to post to that address and ensure you get the certificate of posting.
Is it because they are trying to send special delivery that the PO want to validate the address?
Thanks,

Hi, the parcel is being sent via parcel force, so recorded delivery rather than special.
The problem with the address seems to be its an old barn conversion rather than a 'normal' address.Build your own dreams ~ or someone will hire you to help build theirs
