Ferrous Sulphate - Lawn Moss Control

Planning (for the first time) to apply ferrous sulphate (sulphate of iron) to my lawn as a moss killer.

Can anyone advise as to a good dosage rate.

Will be applying as a solution with a watering can.

Have seen a variety of advice on the web with the consensus being between 1-5 grams per m2. However, I'm not sure how much area I will cover with a 5 litre watering can.

I could do a plain water test of course....

What % of Iron is their in the Iron sulphate you've purchased. (They are all different amounts say 30% or 60%) this will determine the grammes per litre.

Then as you say do a walk test with plain water to determine ltrs/ m2.
