Foreign aid given as UK manufactured goods instead of cash to corrupt governments!
0.7% of the UKs gross national income is spent on foreign aid.
Instead of giving cash to corrupt governments why not send goods manufactured in the UK?
This way money could be put back into the UK economy, supporting UK industry and creating new jobs!
The people who need the aid would actually receive it as items they needed like food and blankets. Please sign the petition and make a difference!

Mmmm... Does someone need to start reading the newspapers?
Cash will go to UK firms investing abroad - not corrupt regimes

Excuse me... what goods are manufactured in Britain now?
Incidentally, only a tiny proportion of British aid is handed over in the form of cash. Cash grants are used for things like paying teachers (and salaries are paid directly to them, bypassing corrupt payroll systems) so it is difficult to see how a gift of goods could do the trick instead.
People living under corrupt governments need help just as much as those with honest rulers, so of course UK Aid operates in these places. No-one hands over money to governments without strings, and there are pretty effective checks on how the money is used.0 -
