Meteor Parking Fine - Paddock Wood Station (South Eastern)

I parked at Paddock Wood station Car Park on Good Friday before an overnight trip to London. When I went to pay for a ticket it was on bank holiday tariff and as such the minimum and maximum I could pay was £1. I read the rules to check it wasn't a short stay only. It wasn't. I forgot to get a ticket at Leighton Buzzard Train station and I received a 'parking charge notice' I reviewed the treads on here and was told to ignore the charge.

I have now received a letter from Meteor asking me to either pay the charge or appeal.

Can I just ignore this letter?

Also, they obtained my details from the DVLA, can they do that?

I would be grateful for your responses.
