the AXA seems to be on a downturn which I think is a bit odd considering it's assets, I Expect quallcomm to pull ahead over the coming years.
Personally I wouldn't buy a US managed fund but would use a tracker instead. The chances of beating the index consistently are very low so might as well try to just match it.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I'm also mildly contrarian and have held subordinated bank debt, European debt and equities, property and small/mid caps at *well* above my normal weightings over the last few years. I also had a few bob in that Liontrust fund (one of the few I own) but didn't put in anything additional after they changed their mandate and went more blue chip.
I also agree with StevieJ about resources and have trimmed banks a little (mainly Lloyds ordinaries) to increase my allocations there.
Regards bonds, I use a couple of corporate bond ETFs (SLXX and ISXF with the latter to offset the size of my direct exposure) and also some strategic bond funds, mainly Kames and Old Mutual.
JP Morgan also have a small bond fund with good international exposure but I don't hold any.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
